Action Words Mat
Morning Walk in the Park
Yesterday, I went to the park with my mother for a morning walk. We entered the park and saw many people there. Some of the kids were playing and running here and there. A group of old people was doing different yoga poses like Mountain pose, Tree pose, and Snake Pose.
Suddenly, a dog came into the park and started barking at people. We all got scared and an uncle made the dog go out of the park. Some children in the park were playing games like badminton and cricket. They were all very happy. The fresh flowers were smelling very nice. It was such a lovely morning walk. I told my mother that we will go to the park daily.
I came back home and started playing with my Musky Buddy with which I learned many action words. Action words, also known as action verbs, are words we use to describe things like our movements and activities. You may not notice it, but we use action words in every sentence we speak or write, like play, walk, eat, drink, draw, read, sleep, happy, sad, and cry. I made Musky Dance, and Move. It was so much fun.

Teachers Note
In a classroom setup teacher can playfully teach kids about what are action words by giving change to each kid to give directions to Musky. When a child reaches the desired action word as defined by the teacher, she/he can ask the child to perform the same action or a group of students or the entire class can be asked to perform the action to make them understand better and simultaneously improve their gross motor skills. The mat is designed in such a way that when kids perform each action, they understand the literacy concept of Verbs.
