Birds Mat
All About Birds!
As a child, I always admired my father’s work as a wildlife photographer. I loved looking through his pictures and listening to his stories about different animals and birds he had captured on camera. One day, while playing with my Musky kit, I thought of sharing my love for the avian world with my father. I asked him to join me and together we opened the bird mat.
To my surprise, I was able to recognize a few birds from my father’s pictures. He was delighted to see my interest in birds and started telling me more about different types of birds. He asked me questions about their habitat, food, and behaviors, and I answered them with excitement.
We played with Musky, moving it around the mat and identifying different birds. My father’s guidance and knowledge helped me to learn about many new species of birds. It was a fun learning game that strengthened the bond between me and my father while also expanding my knowledge about the world of birds.

Teachers Note
When teaching about birds to kids, it is important to keep it simple and engaging. In the classroom setup, teachers can divide students in teams and ask them to play the game. When one team moves the Musky bot to a particular block, the other team can ask questions (like feathers, nests, and eggs) related to that particular bird. The teacher can take a field trip to a local park or nature center and make students observe the different kinds of birds in the area.
