Old MacDonald’s Mat
Fun Farm Adventure
It was a bright summer morning when my father announced that we were going to visit a farm. My sister and I got excited and quickly got ready for our day out. As we reached the farm, we saw many animals such as cows, dogs, horses, and sheep, which fascinated us. Our mother told us about their homes and their young ones. Meanwhile, our father talked to the farm owner and learned about the vegetation and dairy products that they send to the market. We had a great time and learned a lot about different animals, fruits, and vegetables.
Once we were back home, our father reminded us about the importance of farms in our daily life. He explained that farms provide us with essential food needs like fruits, vegetables, and other products such as milk and eggs. He also told us how farms are developing nowadays. To make it more fun, our father asked us to play with Musky and open the Old MacDonald’s Farm Mat. We moved the Musky bot from one place to another and recalled everything our parents had told us about different animals. We had a great time playing and learning with Musky.

Teachers Note
The thematic mat is designed such that when used in a classroom setup, children can learn a lot about farm animals, plantation and vegetation. Depending upon the class in which the mat is introduced, the complexity of mat can be increased. When farm animals are introduced, the teacher can ask about what their shelter is known as, what are the babies of these animals called, which animals give us the products that we consume in our daily lives and more such related questions can be asked. Many questions can be framed on how a plant grows, its process, what we get from plants and trees.
Fruit and vegetable rhymes can be played while using the mat, or the animal sounds audio can also be played when children or on that particular animal. It’s a versatile mat where a lot of learning can be imparted according to the teacher’s planner schedule
